5 reasons why your email list is so important.

Starting my blog in 2017 I never thought about how important an email list can be. Especially weekly newsletters. When I started to buckle down to grow my blog I immediately put my email list on the back burner. I focused on social shares. It only gets you so far! Once I started to work less on social shares I noticed a decrease in traffic, which meant I wasn’t holding onto organic traffic. Social media is great and is a huge part of blogging but what happens if Instagram or Facebook shut down for good one day? What’s next?! Having an email list in place is so important for you as a brand & a great way to connect with your reads and keep their interest. Constant Contact is my emailing software of choice. Sure if you become a daily newsletter emailer it can be overwhelming for someone’s inbox but they can easily it unsubscribe. Keep your readers but don’t be overwhelming their inbox.
Here are 5 reasons why your email list is so important.
1. Stay in contact with your audience
Emails have the ability to keep your customers informed. Consumers are capable of checking their email when it is convenient for them. It can give them a feeling that you are thinking of them. This email can be as simple as saying: “Hi, you’re on our mind, here is a special offer!” or “Here is an update on what has been going on here in recent weeks.” Those that have signed up to your email list have already made a commitment to receive these notes. So they will likely enjoy these emails (as long as you give them something worth reading) and it will boost engagement with your audience or customers.
Using Constant Contact you have over 100+ templates you can choose from to make your newsletters pop & stand out in the crowded email inbox. Not to mention they are all mobile optimized and easy to customize to your brand.
2. Reach your audience in real-time
More and more people are using their mobile devices to access not only emails but all other types of media and information. Not only that, well-designed emails produce higher conversion rates on mobile than any other medium. Hit ’em on the go! With using Constant Contact you can track your success with real-time reporting & analytics, so you know who’s opening what and which emails work best for you and your brand.
3. People engage with emails
For a long time now, over 40 years.. Actually. Longer than I have been alive.. Email has been a form of communication. As the years have gone by, email has fast become one of our main choices of communication. We have all been groomed to reply to an email in some fashion. Whether it is to reply, to forward, click through to something else embedded within the email, delete, or to buy something, or to sign up. We tend to do something with the email. Knowing this, you can use email to drive people to your website, to pick up the phone and call or any other call to action. In fact, over 25 percent of sales last year were attributed to email marketing. I can even say in my day-to-day job as a legal secretary our main form of communication is email. Constant Contact
they have made it easier for you to send emails that engage your customers on every device. No coding or stress necessary.
4. Email marketing is easy to measure
Most email marketing tools offer the ability to track what happens after you have sent out your email campaign. You can track delivery rates, bounce rates, unsubscribe rates, click through rates, and open rates. This gives you a better understanding of how your email campaigns are working, which ones to tweak or which ones to get rid of altogether. These metrics should not be ignored. They are an important part of your internet marketing campaign as a whole. Constant Contact has a couple marketing features such as Social Media and Event Marketing.
However, sending too many emails to consumers who don’t want more than one a week will see your unsubscribe rate increase. It’s all about knowing your customers and providing valuable content. like I said above in my opening of this post
5. It’s affordable
This the doozy. Constant Contact is AFFORDABLE! WOOO! You can reach a large number of your audience or consumer for less than pennies per message. The cost per (possible) conversion is so low with email marketing, I cannot believe every company does not participate, or engage more often. Constant Contact offers you a 60-day trial.. 60 DAYS!
So that being said like their slogan, No commitments. No risk. No Credit Card Required. Constant Contact does not believe in tying you to a long-term contract. You can cancel at any time, without fear of hidden fees or penalties.
So remember, social media isn’t the only platform that helps a blog or company’s brand awareness. Possessing a customer or prospect’s email address means one thing: they showed a level of interest in you or your brand. Email marketing gives you the ability to increase that interest level, that brand awareness, by staying top of mind. It’s also very timely. One of the many benefits of email marketing is it can be your saving grace when it comes to your subscriber list or consumer list. Once you begin a blog and name it. You are a brand. You are YOUR brand.
